For the same feed direction, I don't think you can swap them like this, but I am not sure. You would have to contact Jessem to find out. The roller wheel attachments are definitely one-sided since they cant in towards the fence by 5 degrees, so you would need a different set of these to mount the fence left of the blade.pheski wrote:I am considering getting this for the Mark 7. Can it be mounted to work on both sides of the rip fence, or only with the blade on the left of the rip fence?
Thanks.

Well, I guess it was only a matter of time before these were copied in China. What is interesting is that the price (to USA) is essentially the same as getting the original from Jessem, so why buy the Chinese version??? Apparently, these come out to about half price (according to reviews) for those purchasing them in Europe...perhaps an exchange rate difference between Canada/China <-> Europe?
Not going to post the link to them because I hope anyone reading this post will consider the Canadian manufactured Jessem guides instead, but here is a pic of what the Hongdui guides look like:

After reading this thread, and thinking ( well trying to, anyways ) about it. I drilled out the 4 holes on the Jessem shoe (?), and used SS t-nuts. Hopefully the photos will explain it better. This was pretty easy, no overhang.

Re: Jessem Clear-Cut TS™ Stock Guides on Shopsmith 520 Fence
That looks pretty simple. When I look at this view I'm wondering what stops the whole assembly from sliding in the T-tracks on the fence:
It looks like no part of the guide is in direct contact with the fence. So I'm not quite understanding it. What am I missing?

The 4 Allen head bolts hold the guide tight to the top of the fence. One could leave the 4 Allen head screws just loose enough that the guide will slide, and just use the 2 silver knobs to tighten the guides solid to the top of the fence. loosening up the round black knobs allows the shaft the roller assembly is on, to move left and right. As you slide the stock under the rollers, they are angled, and push the stock against the fence, while also preventing kickback. Any more questions I’ll answer if I can.

What size hole did you drill out the shoe holes? Did you offset the holes to better align with the ss t-nut?
This looks like a much simpler method of using this on the SS.

If I’m remembering correctly, I drilled out the 4 corner holes to 3/8. This allowed the 1/4-20 bolt to screw into the the tee-nut, just barely, keeping the shoe square to the fence. In this application absolute square isn’t a necessity. Just need close enough so the wheels keep feeding the stock against the fence. This is why I needed the washers on top, because the bolts are not centered in the holes. I think I tried to offset the holes, but was not able to. I think I went 1/4 to 5/16 to 3/8.

Re: Jessem Clear-Cut TS™ Stock Guides on Shopsmith 520 Fence
I ended up with a very simple solution, that seems to be quite solid in use. I used 2x1" 1/4-20 bolts and a few washers per shoe to bolt the guide shoe to the right most track of the fence via the shoe slide under the shoe, and a t-nut under the shoe slide in the SS fence track. I could have installed in the left most track, but I wanted to maintain clearance on the blade side of fence. Either way, the install is very sturdy and worked very well in tests. The only negative is I do give up clearance on right side of fence due to a small overhang, and I lose some guide wheel reach (with the install on the right track). Positives are I didn't have to alter the guide at all, the guide is still very sturdy and easily repositionable. It's too bad the thumb knob that comes on the shoes isn't 1/4-20 and have a 1" length.
