When I bought the Ultimate Fence Router System package, the Incra fence would fit both the 510 and 520. Currently Shopsmith lists separate part numbers for the 510 and 520. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... tempkg.htm

Did you find the instructions to adjust the tension indicator? It's fairly easy to do. Also the tracking problem may be caused by the tilt on the upper wheel being incorrect. See the link to the Ask Smitty in the July/August 2004 Hands On. Caution, the regular page is the correct amount of tilt 1/8&...

I changed my bearings with just a vise, not the best way but it worked. They are a push fit and not an undersized press fit so it's not to difficult. I don't know of any bearing on the Shopsmith that is an undersized press fit. A bearing puller and a press for installing them would be the best way t...

I think it may have been Rick at the TA who said that the adhesive used to put the belts together has a usable life of about a year.

I had trouble with a belt that wouldn't track correctly because it was worn out and would move off to the side and rub against the frame and shredded itself.

The rod is # 514487, I bought one for less than $10.00 from SS. You will need one of their T-nuts and a washer. If you can drill a hole in the end of a 5/8" rod and tap it so a section of threaded rod will fit the center hole in the T-nut it will work. Then cross drill the other end of the rod ...

I like my 5000 and wouldn't want to be without it. I have cross cut plywood up to 15" wide using mine and could possibly go a little wider. Due to where I store mine I have to remove the fence when stored, most of my cuts are in shorter pieces so I bought the shorter fence to keep on it most of...

When I upgraded to the 520 I built a fence holder to go on the 510 Accessory Shelf. When I bought the new Accessory Shelf a year ago I put my fence holder on it because it holds the fence securely.

The fence holder on the old Accessory Shelf.

Best-Ever Workshops 2008

Shopsmiths are featured in two of the "9 Home Workshops that Work" section. That's 22% of the shops in their magazine using Shopsmith this year. Hopefully more people will learn just how useful Shopsmith can be in a small shop. Best-Ever Workshops 2008 is from Better Homes and Gardens the ...

Look at the Pinnacle Aluminum plate from Woodcraft. http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=20283 With the full set of Aluminum Insert Rings it would run just over $200 with sales tax. Don't know if it's really worth it but it would be nice.
